Whether it’s on their way to work, at home or anywhere in
between, women carry a heavy burden—physically, emotionally, and
financially—to feel safe. Unpack the Everyday shows the lengths women
go to protect themselves with objects they carry in their bags every day.
This needs to change. Creating a violence-free world for women
and girls—online and offline—means we, all of us, take
collective action today and every day. From recognizing and
listening to women, to speaking out, to calling out unacceptable
jokes and behavior, we all have an active role to play. Find out
how and join UN Women for the annual global
16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM
AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE campaign from November 25th to
December 10th.

TAKE ACTION
Gender-based violence is something women unfairly face, but we can solve it together. Here are 16 ways men and boys can take action, better themselves and help create a safer, more equal world.
When it comes to ending violence against women, we all have an active role to play. This includes men and boys. From speaking up to hearing the stories of survivors, here are actions every one of us can take today.
16 DAYS
